Saw a brief clip of this on Breakfast this morning. Seems to focus quite a bit on Virgin perhaps, rather than the whole XPrize background. Start saving now.....
Horizon, BBC2 at 9.00pm tonight.

Edit to shorten link... Nick

Thanks for the heads-up Dave, from the write up it looks like it will be an interesting program. It doesn't appear to be a repeat either

Is anyone considering saving up the million miles? Of course, this would be easier if VS put the triple miles promo on sooner rather than later.

Oh, someone had to upset me by mentioning that again....

I wish it would happen.

Does anyone know if you will be able to get miles on VG flights and is so, are they redeemable on VS?
Cheers<

Horizon was facinating though. I just wish that the space shuttle disasters had not come up so many times - I always find those shots of space craft blowing up far too intimate and really rather upsetting.
Now where can I scrape together $200k from?[:?]

Lost was pants, it takes the p*** out of views constantly promising answers, hunks running through the forest without shirts on is a bonus I suppose.
The only way I will be able to afford going galactic is when my cremated remains are shot out to space. £6k to orbit the planit and come back down as a shooting star, £8k to get blasted to the moon, and £12K to go in to infinity and beyond with a champagne party at the launch.

Really - thought it would be cheaper then that, have to admit it really does appeal to me.
Loved Horizon last night, was really interesting to see the totally different approach a whole bunch of geeks take. I was really surprised by the relative simplicity of SpaceShipOne, it would be soo cool to do it! Interesting program, and naturally lots of great free advertising for SRB.
Lost - i really enjoyed it, have come to never expect any answers from the program, just more questions.

What about at sea (serious question)?

I think SRB must have been rubbing his hands with a free plug (or three) on the Beeb for Galactic. Now all I need is the right 6 nos.......

Knowing I'm probably never going to afford sub-orbital space travel, I'm consoling myself with this:
If you get 1 FC mile for every mile flown, you only fly 62 miles up. Coming back makes it 124 miles and even at 4x (maybe), that's a mere 496 FC miles.
Doesn't seem worth it for $200k! [}:)]

Doesn't that buy you about 1g.
Space Services is $1k for 1gram and $5.3k for 7g. They'll also send 1gram to the moon for $12.5k.
