Interesting that the new Virgin logo hasn't been implimented on this aircraft, I wonder when we'll start seeing it on VS planes (other than Birthday Girl of course).

Great pictures!
Any idea why there appears to be no RR logo on the nacelles? I may be mistaken but could've sworn I've seen it on the other RR powered airframes; maybe I'm confusing VS with other operators?...

Maybe the engine paint job is not quite finished yet as they also dont have the '4 engines 4 long haul' logo on yet either. See this pic

ISTR that the special paint job for Birthday Girl is a one-off, and that we won't be seeing it rolled out fleet-wide.

Cheers

I mean the Virgin text on the tail. If you look at Birthday Girl, Virgin America's website, some virgin companies, and VK planes (minus VBUS) you will see a smoother, newer version of the logo.

Ah, yes, I see the difference now [:I] This is only my guess, but I'm wondering if the "new" & "repaint" jobs are done by different companies? It could be possible that those doing the "repaints" have a slightly different design template to the ones doing the "new" jobs - that would go some way to explaining the discrepancy.

I don't know if the "new" logo is going to be across the board - personally, I prefer the "old" one anyway :)

Cheers

During the VS eBay bid there was one thing for sale that was a piece of the original drawing for the new logo, and I think in the description it said something about the deployment of it, but I can't remember.

I don't know which one I prefer [:?], the new one is a hipper design, but I kind of like the lumpy old one.

Thats for the heads up Mcuth, I will try to keep up the latest news on the town............! The mid cabin galley always amused me as a waste of space, considering the room up the back...........

The stairs down to the crew rest area are off the middle galley. must be a fair re-structure of the aircraft to accomodate these extra seats...... Anybody know where the access stairs to the rest area will be???

VS really responding well to feedback on this issue.............[y]

The next A346 to be delivered will be the first without the mid Economy galley and the new config (45J/38W/225Y).

The 1st A346 with the new style seats throughout Premium and Economy is due in July 2006.

Thanks for that Marc! Will be really interesting to see the changes on board!

Out of interest .. has anyone seen the new test seats? Would be great to get a picture of them!

Yes thanks for the update Marc [y]

Any idea what's going to happen to the existing A346's, will the cabin config be changed along with the seats or will this new config only apply to new A346's from this year onwards.

Regards

I haven't seen the new seats but I'll be sure to report back if I'm lucky enough to fly on G-VWKD.

The new cabin config will be retro-fitted on the existing A346s during 2006. The rollout of the new W and Y seats depends on the success of the current trial.
