Combining Miles

Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to combine miles from accounts to make a booking. I have 73760 miles (not quite enough for a pair of returns to MCO) while my wife has 33334 miles (not quite enough for 1 x return trip to MCO). If we are allowed to pool them, we've got more than enough between us to do it. And obviously as the situation worsens a little if we book after 01.03.06, if we can I'd like to organise it sooner rather than later.[:?]

Hi there
Yes you can split miles between accounts, usually 50/50 or 75/25, not a problem. The only rule is that (as far as I know) the miles for each sector have to come from one account à so you can buy three sectors (your return and her outbound, while she buys her inbound) ThatÕs the only restriction I know of
When you call Flying Club if you explain this is what you want to do, they should easily be able to process your booking.
You right on wanting to get there before 1st March though - id call them in the morning ... you know you want to

Thanks for the prompt reply, I was hoping that might be the case. I'd better get my skates on and get on the phone to confirm and book.
Cheers.

Yes, if the reward is made up of 20 individual sectors of 1k

I believe the OP will still have a problem. VS have never let me do anything other than use my miles for 1 complete sector (which I think has been said already, but the technicalities went a little over my head). This means at present 80k miles are needed for a return G to MCO. This also means that the OP will need at least 40k for each segment. Whilst the OP has enough to cover this, his wife does not.
I would like to hear how this goes.

OP didnt specify whether they wanted a G or a U or a T .. i guessed the mileage that it was a T they were after?

Kind of one the same topic as original post, hubby and I both have the 50K miles needed for a free return PE flight LHR-JFK. What I wonder is whether I can call up FC and make the booking together using miles from two accounts so that our seats can be booked together and it's all in one tidy booking?

Yep, they should have no problem with that. The rear admiral and I did it down to CPT just the same - we have separate tickets, but were together and our bookings were linked just fine.

Jacqueline, Yes (well sort off). FC Call centre can do this and get (or request) you seats together. You will have two booking refs though if you have two different type of booking (ie 1 free mileage and 1 rev). But I do this all the time and the only time I have a problem is when they change the aircraft as the computer shifts you around and doesn't sit you together again, so my adivse would be to keep and eye out for aircraft changes.

Thanks, guys! As ever, you've been extremely helpful and knowledgeable [oo]
I'll get on to FC today and see what I can sort - I'll keep you posted.
Jacq x
PS gotta make the most of mileage bookings before the end of the month!
