Yep once again our yearly fight with the snow has started, should be fun at LAS today, for those of you heading this way in the next couple of days bring cold weather gear.
Just got back from Vegas yesterday, and I can confirm it was quite cold over the weekend, although sunday daytime was quite nice.
We did a trip to the Grand Canyon on friday but had to leave Grand Canyon West airport early as it started to snow there, not something I was expecting at all!

Altitude is quite a factor at the GC. The North Rim is almost 9000 feet so snow is quite common in winter. I could never get over the fact that there is a Ski Resort in Arizona - close to Flagstaff.
Having been in LAS in March I can well remember how cold it was.

We've just got back and the weather was okay but on the Monday we were leaving (26 Feb) it started to get colder.
I would have to say though, we were there in Feb 06 (there was a heatwave) and Dec 06 and the weather was okay but this time it was perhaps the coldest it has been. No where near as cold as the UK though. I certainly didn't have to wear a heavy coat - just a lightweight jacket and top.
Got back here and it's really cold and I understand it's going to be freezing tonight!!

Even in the low desert there can be snow. Palm Springs had some flurries recently and temps were at record lows, so much so that some of the desert's indigenous plant life turned brown. I was told that this has never happened before. Had to see for myself so when I was in town last weekend I rode around and sure enough, the tops of many plants, especially the ficus trees bordering various properties, were shriveled and brown.
Enjoy the snow, Dave!
