Many years ago I always tried to get on the AA flights out of BRU heading to the USA because they had the 33" seat pitch for the similar price when most others were still on 31" (or even less) in economy .... so this sort of information is really helpful, thanks.

I wonder whether any of our talented mathematicians on V-Flyer have calculated the seat pitch in SeatPlus for those lucky flyers who are narrower round the waist (etcetera) than their seats so can sit at an angle :-)

Sorry, meant to add extra thanks that in the article ChelseaGirl posted there were reminders about the availability of SeatGuru which has some great search features which really show up the wide range of seat widths and pitches across the airlines

Seat widths can be misleading, if you compare VS and BA 787's:

VS: 18.9 Inches
BA: 17.5 Inches

It would look like BA's seat is not as wide, even though they have the same number of seats across the aircraft.
But the seats are the same width, it's just that on the 787, VS measure seat width from above the arm rest, and BA from below the armrest.

Also the UCS on the 787 certainly isn't 34.5 inches wide on the seat part! And the seat pitch is even longer than VS advertise the bed at!
