So I think, for me, the holiday starts the last day in work and I say my farewells (don't burn the building down) to everyone. I always leave with a spring in my step and throughout the day I'm known to burst into song at random occasions...yes i am that camp! ^) I love the last day in work feeling...that's when my holiday starts! y)

that actually made me laugh lol

Ditto.......

Although in answer to the OP my 'trip' always officially starts in my eyes when I look out of the window and see the car (VS Limo, hire car, friend/parent taxi) waiting for me.

Then the fun begins 8D

I get mega excited as soon as the booking is confirmed and that continues to a greater or lesser degree until a couple of weeks before we go, by which time I wish we weren't going at all! This happens every single time!

But once we close the front door and get in the car/ taxi to drive to the airport hotel/ port hotel, I START to relax a teeny bit and start to think perhaps going will be ok after all. I only REALLY get excited then when arriving at the airport/ port by which time I am jumping. Once I have unpacked,I am totally in holiday mode!

Mine starts when I left the office for the last time before the holiday. This trip I just returned from, the flight was not till Sunday but the holiday to me started on Friday at 4pm.

The excitement begins when the flights are booked as this is always first piece of the holiday puzzle. Then the subsequent months of researching and booking hotels, rental cars etc.
