Interesting about the golden ticket scheme. Don't suppose VS have a similar procedure?

VS did used to have the Heroes scheme where anyone could nominate VS staff who went above and beyond. No sure if that is still running though?

Many of the crew see it as a mixed blessing - if they hand in their golden ticket, after receiving it from a happy customer, they get called in to work for a sit down with their manager, to get a pat on the back. But it's on one of their days off. Which can be a drag if they live some distance from the office.

So whilst it's a nice gesture, some crew will say thank you, but not actually process it!

For those who think BA can do no wrong and look after their premium passengers far better than VS, it seems they've decided to "enhance" Club Europe with new seats that'll be narrower and offer the same very tight legroom as economy (currently they offer 4 inches more).

Not that they mentioned that in the press release - someone leaked an internal document to another forum.

They all fly J, not that J that you and I may sometimes fly, they fly another J, the secret J, the J that no-one else ever flies, the J that dare not speak its name, you know - THAT J ! It is a J that never goes wrong from the time they negotiate fast track in a time that Usain Bolt could only dream of achieving en route to the Concorde room/lounge/pub/whatever it is called, where they are greeted by name, and then personally escorted to seat 64A (regardless of plane/destination), greeted by name by the pilot, FO, CSD, CSM, FA, DFC, MM, VC, and when they arrive at their destination they are whisked through that irritating immigration process. You know, that J.

And what a pile of cr*p it is as well, but what competition is there to make BA up their game? Personally you can give me an exit row seat any day, as long as I've been able to visit the flounge first for my breakfast (no, that's not a dodgy bit of enunciation, head over to FT for a translation ) You'd have to be desperate for TPs or on the company dime to even think of using CE...

Agree totally about CE. If you are gold and you book early enough the leg room seats in ET are more comfortable and you have all the other perks such as first checkin lounge etc. CE only value if part of a cheap euro long haul or as a Poug which offers 30 extra tier points for as little as 60 euros. BA has to survive against the low cost rivals

CE is worth it for the tier points plus better food.

For the sake of 1-1.5 hours, I'm not too bothered about the reduced seat pitch if the prices reflect the change.
