MBNA are idiots

Been following all the problems with getting miles since changing to Amex and as with many others I got the first batch of miles last month and got an odd amount credited this month.

On my credit card statement :-
FLYING CLUB MILES EARNED 40,985.22

On my flying club statement :-
07 Sep 2006 VAA Credit Card Spend 8,277 0

On talking to MBNA they could not explain what had happened and seemed to have no way of manually transferring the miles.

I did say to them that I needed to use the miles this week, which is not completley true and she assured me that VS will call them and they can see the miles so I could use them. I have not tried to prove this theory yet.

Summary is that everything is messed up, she could not tell me why/how but it will all be sorted out by the end of September.

Fingers crossed then.

It seems MBNA are now blaming VS for this as that's what they told my dad who's also chasing missing bonus/spend miles on a new card application.

MBNA 'claim' VS have a back log of M/Card upgrades to deal with which funnily enough they said should be clear by the end of September.

Well, they have sorted my miles out this month, so as long as they appear in my FC account, I'm all up to date :D

I was supposed to have 11,109.94 miles credited and they only credited 1359. Spoke to them today and was told only can be dealt with by a department thats open 9-5 great one when I'm tied up at work and they won't even give me an address so I could write. I getting really annoyed as this is stopping from booking an extra UC seat...

I have complained to VS direct telling them what is being carried out in their name and that they need to protect their brand accordingly. I am awaiting a reply at present! I'll post again with a result.

I did similarly by copying the complaint I sent to MBNA to VS. That was many moons ago, when the new amex cards were just out. I have yet to receive a reply from either.

I made a query about my miles 2 weeks ago, earnt about 2500 and was credited 28!

I recieved a letter from them this morning saying they had tried to contact me about an urgent query on my account.

Just called and it was about the mileage, and they say the balance of miles stated on the statement will be credited at then END of the month. It was never like that with the Mastercard but we shall see.....

they are hopeless - they tell you anything to get you off the phone.

now am waiting for their 'marketing' department to resolve - the usual 'we will call you back in 5 days'.

gonna send a copy of my statement with the miles that were allocated to the 'missing miles' department at vs., worth a go! :)

I've had a few issues passed to this "marketing dept". Both times they have replied within 2 days, so it's worth phoning back and asking the operator to check your notes. MBNA didn't bother to phone me to update me though, [:(!]

Been there, seen it, done it, got the t-shirt and binned the amenity kit!

Actually not quite true. I still have a few grey ones, but I believe they don't count.

Put through yesterday, my opinion of them has been slightly raised [:w]
