This from the LA Times:
"Velvet ropes of Vegas"
In Las Vegas, velvet ropes are everywhere. But they speak loudest at the doors of the city's posh nightclubs. Club managers offer some advice on getting in.

Well, it looks like I'll never get beyond the ropes then [:#]. Mind you, given the price of the drinks [:0] I don't think I'll shed too many tears. And I doubt they serve Adnams

One thing i've never done is get in to a club in Vegas, had a table booked at Light when staying in a penthouse in the Bellagio went to the club at the arranged time, names on the guest list, to be told to wait, an hour passed i asked and was told there's to manny guy's in there and would have to wait, so in the end walked off.
Reading that article is a joke, you either have to wait about 3 hours to get in or have $1m in your pocket.

All this "trendy" clubs, all very nice and stuff. And this isn't just for Vegas - this is generally the world over. I couldn't bring myself to go to one. Not because of the cost - if with a friend or two I'm sure I would happily fork out for a bottle of Gin or something to savour through the night. No its the music they all play - far too pretetious and modern for my liking. I just don't get it and can't relax and enjoy myself with it. No, I want lyrics, I want dance routines, I want camp cheesy nonsense, I want a 70's lit up dance floor!!

Couldn't agree more -I can't understand why people go to clubs that just play modern boom boom music- sign of age I suppose.Perhaps we can sugest some cheesy disco music and flashing lights on the RBS 2007 - I'll get up and do the hustle et al with you Mat .
Seems like clubs in Vegas are even more pretentious than clubs in South Beach - too many men so you can't come in? What nonsense.
