V-Flyer

Looks like I will be in Taipei in January now. I have never been before so has anybody here any suggestions? I have looked at the usual , Hyatt , Shanghri LA but just in case there are any other hidden gems before I book same. Im planning to go via HK and maybe get a few days there as well - never been to HK either - any ideas? Taipei being really my priority as there are some details on HK hotels on this site already but any imput would be great , Thanks Keith

On business trips to Taipei in the past, I've stayed at the Sherwood. Not cheap but an absolutely lovely hotel. Large
cosy rooms.
