Just checked my statement on-line and have got an entry for a Paypal transaction for £169 - which is nothing to do with me! I've searched in vain for a phone number to report fradulent card use but can't find anything. There's not even a number quoted on the paper statement. All I can find is the 0800 number for Customer Satisfaction which I dialled, then selected the closest option I could find, which was "duplicate internet transactions" - only to then get a recorded message saying office closed please call again in office hours.
Would appreciate any advice? Thanks,
James

1. You need to call the standard 0800 056 7686 number (VS Amex) and your your card stopped ASAP.
2. They will also help you with sorting the fraud out for you, although MBNA fraud department dont work weekends as they clearly think fraud only happens Mon-Fri [n]

Thanks for that James. That was actually the number I dialled, the problem is that you have to sit through a few minutes of a computer reading out your balance and other irrelevant stuff. It eventually gets on to the options, but nothing to speak to a human being. As I said the closest option I could find was "duplicate internet transactions" - it then says they will transfer you to a representative, only to get another recorded message saying they are only open office hours!
To cut a long story short, I called the MBNA helpline number that I have with my other MBNA card (VISA) and quickly got through to speak to someone who kindly understood the situation and cancelled my card!

glad to see you got it sorted, I've been getting texts and phone calls from MBNA fraud almost weekly due to my high spending rates, they really are a nightmare to get through to!
