I have stayed at the Menzies before. It's in a great location straight over the road from Wynyard station and right next to the bus station for all routes Northbound - This is where the good news ends though unfortunately.
The place itself is very dated, the rooms are small and stuck in a 70's timewarp. The walls and ceilings were very thin. We stayed in a room at the end of a corridor and I'm sure I could hear 2-3 toilets being flushed in rooms further down the hallway.
We paid about AUD160 for the room, we will be going elsewhere next time given some of the other options available for this kind of price...
