ok what seriously are the travel benifits paying with the above or even booking through their travel desks. All I see so far is a fancy looking card with a big credit and a large fee each year note mine in a euro amex card.

Comprehensive travel insurance whether you book on the card or not for the whole family plus all your supplementary card holders and their families.2 full priority pass cards.I never spend on the plat card but the insurance and the PP cards more than cover the £300 fee.
I do use the card to order currency delivered to the door next day and also The Fine Hotels and Resorts program which often has unbeatable hotel rates and perks.

FHR perks are very nice, not always the best price but flexible rates with extras so often worth it. The PP cards are big pluses too.

The Priority pass is a god send and the insurrance benefits are infinitely better than the feable stuff we have at work. Oh, the the same day card replacement is wonderful (My existing card has litterally fallen to bits and I didn't trust the royal snail to deliver my new one in time).

Add gold for both HHonors and SPG and I believe it's worth it

A recent new benefit for the US card are free membership in the AA Admirals Club and the NW WorldClub. I'm not certain whether this applies to UK Cardmembers but for me, a frequent traveler on both airlines, this one benefit is pretty neat.

The "two for one" airline program has been around for many years. It can be an excellent source of savings, depending upon the airline and itinerary chosen.

So I think the OPs question could be be stated like this:

Last Wednesday I took the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly. Seeing that it was my last day in Sydney I did not want to have too much extra cash. Well I lost my good Oakley's in Munich and some crazy Austrian has not mailed them to me (long story). Well the right lens on my old Oakley's is blurry and has wearing them. Well I went to the WestPac ATM to get cash (free for Bank Of America customers). I saw to 3 in the amount to withdraw and thought it was 30 ozzie dollars. Well 300 came out. Luck tho that right near by there was an AmEx office. I chubby lady exchanged the AUD to USD without a transaction fee (normally AUD8 free with a Plat). Not a bug deal but I was in a shitty mood and not paying for my error turned the day around.

So what other small and not so widely published benefits are out there for Plats US and UK?
