Well, after staying at The London in NYC a few times I was in LA and decided to stay at The London West Hollywood.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up about how great it is. Really enjoyed my stay here, fantastic location just off Sunset, right by The Viper Room so you can actually walk to Sunset Plaza and some grea places to eat. Friendly, helpeful stuff, massive rooms, incredible bathrooms and a super cool rooftop pool. So yeh. I'll be staying here on all my visits to LA from now on.

It's a great part of town, and I love hotels you can walk to stuff from in LA, since you end up spending so much time in the car. I like Santa Monica and Venice, too, but this spot is great for a drinking, partying vacation. I like The Standard for this area, but maybe I'll give this place a try next time we're down there. Thanks.

There are 2 standard hotels in LA - I prefer the one by Chateau Marmont for partying by the rooftop pool [:w]

HG - absolutely. Downtown's a much better place than it used to be in LA, but not a patch un the Sunset Blvd strip in Hollywood.

I do like WG - never had much time for the fantasy end of sci-fi, much happier with socio-analytical stuff.
