Looking for a couple of days in an Edinburgh Hotel week after next.(Four or Five star.) Intend taking in a couple of days of the Fringe. I would prefer a Hilton affiliated as my account is linked to VS Flying club. Anybody got any recommendations and suggestions as to where to get the best price?

Many thanks
Bryan

Not sure about the Hilton but I like both The Balmoral and The Witchery but recently stayed at The Malmasion in Leith with my work (cos it gets a great deal there for both business and personal use) and it was outstanding for the price paid and would definately stay there in future.

I use the Hilton Caledonian on Princes St. when in Edinburgh as we get a good corporate rate and it's a good location for the Fringe. I wouldn't bother with the other Hiltons in the area as the Airport hotel is (a) way out of town and (b) cr*p and the Grosvenor's a bit hit and miss.

I've had excellent reports of the Malmaison - remember though that it is in Leith and not central Edinburgh, so you'll need to drive / taxi / bus back and forth for Festival events.

Many thanks, tried the Caledonian and the Grosvesnor no availability using the two for one offer supplied by Sealink! I am starting to become a miles whore! Yes you are right, the Malmaison on refection is a bit far out. Back to square one more looking.

I can thoroughly recommend the malmaison in Leith, the eggs benedict for breakfast was superb. As has been said it's a bit of a way out so a taxi or quick 10 min bus ride direct to the city centre is needed.

I think (and am happy to be corrected on this) but the only other VS partnered hotels are the Sheraton (good location) and the Marriott (again, out by the airport).

What about TigerLily? Its very popular with my colleagues.

Don't forget that as its Fringe time, rich hotel pickings are few and far between. If you want to go, I'd book what you can get and afford.

Thanks,
Sarah
