Thanks David, I didn't pick up Metro today and this is the best piece of news in it in months.
Just have to hope it goes ahead it isn't another dead duck. Would have been even better if it was still the BA London Eye but never mind.

it's good to see that BA have found somewhere to put G-BOAB on display rather than in storage around the back of Heathrow where no-one can see it.
if this does not go ahead Concorde needs to be put back in-front of the hatton cross hanger where it was until last year whereat least it is visable

I'm not convinced about that plan. Slightly tacky and unless it's covered, will suffer a slow and undignified deterioration until it becomes an eyesore.

It doesn't seem to be a problem with the Concorde on display in Manhattan on USS Intrepid. I am sure that BA wouldn't let it fall into decay.

BA will let them fall into decay, the one in Bristol looks awful, the staff there are really pushing to have a hangar built for it.
There was also talk of the one in NYC being mistreated - with it's nose being knocked off and it's screen broken a couple of years ago. There has also been debate about it's positioning near to corrosive sea water.
BA has no intention of letting these aircraft back into service and only really cares for them as adverts for their brand.

Something else to view from my office window - one does get bored from seeing the Thames, St Pauls, city skyline, The London Eye and Palace of Westminster etc etc daily

At least there are a couple of Concordes in excellent condition stored inside building for future gens to visit. I'd love to see this one, it's an iconic plane, half British, in an iconic location. That's great stuff, even better if perhaps it had a glass dome?

I have to agree with Darren. The one in New York has not faired well and although the environment is not quite so harsh in London it would not look good after a few years.
Aircraft dont belong in City Centre's, or floating on barges - it just seems to lack any respect for such a beautiful plane.
