Cancelled today, anyone know why?

Numerous flights to various destinations are cancelled at this time of year due to light loads. It is a planned cancellation rather than an on the day issue.

Great my boss has a ticket and is on his way to airport, Expedia didn't tell him.

It doesn't sound planned if VS was taking booking on it ... Egg the VS Web site hasn't got a reason but I tweated Heathrow to see if I can find out!

"We are re-booking all passengers onto alternative services due to an unforeseen technical problem with the aircraft that cannot be fixed in time to operate the Washington flight today. Greg"

Thanks guys, the put him on united, he played the dumb old man card and they took pity on him and looked after him really well.

Ah sorry, I wrongly assumed it was part of the cancellation program rather than a last minute forced cancellation.
