I'm not sure if it was seeing Eddie and Patsy carry the torch down the King's Road or what, but I think it is going to be fantastic.

(I'm a little concerned about the NHS bed trampolines in the opening ceremony though!).

I shed a little tear when the lit the cauldron at Hyde Park (thank Logie Baird for the mute button when Boris started speaking though)

At this rate I will be a blubbering wreck by tomorrow night!

Good grief, Boris should be put in a box and shipped to Beijing to play ping pong! I did too ... the next two weeks are going to be fantabulous and I hope we win like a gazillion medals!

I really feel sorry for staff at tube and rail stations who have to hear his mutterings on a regular basis.

I have tickets for the Olympic Park on Monday. I'll take some pics and post them here.

We will have to put up with Boris tomorrow when the Torch arrives at City Hall !

Luckily Mr B the other Mr B dosen't have a speaking role at either the opening or closing ceremonies and apart from handing the flag over to Rio at the closing he will be safely seated away from any microphones !

I'm also very excited. I'm super looking forward to the opening ceremony but equally so for all the different events.

It isn't going to be something we see here again for a million, billion years(or something like that) so I think we should embrace the marvel of the Olympics and the quite exceptional athletes that will be taking part.

Whilst I'm excited about the fact it's happening nearby, I'm afraid I'm totally alienated by the ticketing and website, which are an absolute shambles. I've spent another 80 mins on there again today putting tickets in my basket only to find they are no longer available to buy. Plus the prices are in some cases absolutely ludicrous.

I'm excited too ^) . I'll miss the opening ceremony (it's a celebratory day for me too tomorrow ) but will have the Sky+ set to record the spectacle.

Happy celebration ! (incidently I am off to a civil partnership tomorrow so am recording it too in case I am late back - the LOCOG contdown clock has come in very handy for the couple counting down)

Erm, the last Olympics in London was held in 1948 and before that in 1908 neither of which are a million, billion years ago - unless I really am that old!

I was taught to swim by a 1948 Olympiad and my brother who was also taught to swim by her claims she was a silver medallist. She always wore her team blazer when teaching us but that went right over our heads. We were all more interested in looking up her skirt to see if we could see her knickers (well we were of that age ) )

I'm a Games Maker and was lucky enough to get a ticket to Monday's opening ceremony rehearsal and I can tell you that it's just amazing, breathtaking and very very British.

Yes me too. What they've achieved building that wonderful site from a waste dumping ground into that fantastic park is just amazing. It's not just the event stadiums either, the whole area looks so pretty. Very typically British and something we should be so proud of.

I too had hassle getting tickets, I tried endless times over a 14month period, then suddenly I stopped asking for 2 concession tickets and within minutes up comes the "congratulations sign" I was a little peeved but at the end of the day it's a chance of a lifetime. Come on Team GB y)

Well some would say that 1908 games don't really count as London was a last minute replacement because of Mount Vesuvius erupting near Rome in 1906 and in 1948 it was in the post WWII environment.

But after 2012 I can't see the UK hosting the games again for a very long time especially now that a few of the 'developing' countries are developing enough to be able to host them.

That said I am looking forward to see what the opening ceremony offers us as well as the sports themselves.

What a ridiculous comment TB. "Well some say" clearly means only you, it is generally acknowledged that London is the only city to host the games three times, however it came to pass. I agree we'll not likely do it again for a very long time if at all, but that's a standard that no other city is likely to reach.

Yes I am now really excited by it all and so want the UK to put on a brilliant display. I must confess, when the torch relay was first announced I was an Eeyore about it- but once it began it thrilled me and I think it was a brilliant idea.

I can not wait to get work done with today do I can sit and watch the spectacular tonight! Wish Daybreak would stop showing spoilers though!!!

I was at Wednesday's rehersal and agree, it is truly amazing....!!! The park is looking very good today, the atmosphere is building rapidly around Stratford, it's finally time!!

I work for TFL in Service Control for the Tube and will be working the night shift tonight, I sincerely hope we don't let anyone down.

With all the Olympic merchandise around I am surprised no one thought of selling "Happy Olympics" cards - or perhaps they have and I just haven't seen them !
Disappointed I missed the bell ringing. Thought 20.12 was tonight ! !

I'm still very "Meh" about it.

Causing masses of extra work. Luckily it's only every 4

I am more of a football fan and didn't think I would be paying to much attention to the Olympics. But having watched the "torch" pass through my home town I was amazed to see the interest and community spirit,from that point I did become interested and have enjoyed watching the football.Really looking forward to the opening event and will follow some of the other events.It will be a great honour for London and the UK in general,and should bring plenty of business to Virgin.
