Discontinued Southwest Service

Hi All,
Off on our annual jaunt to SW Florida in November. After years of driving from MCO to Ft Myers, I finally decided last year to take the Southwest Airlines service from MCO into RSW(Ft Myers Airport)
It left me wondering why I hadn't done it for years, 27 Mins from brakes off to the stand at RSW! fantastic. Typically and understandably, SW Airlines have decided to discontinue the route from the 3rd Nov this year (we arrive on the 13th!)
So, my question to all you frequent visitors/residents of the great state of Florida is, are there any other equally convenient ways of getting to Ft Myers? I'm really trying to avoid the tedious 3 Hr drive if I can

Thanks

NOC

Not really, you can use AA and connect via MIA and EYW, but that takes 5 hours, sorry to say that driving is all that is really left.

You should do flabound's trick of taking the VS17 to Newark and then getting across NYC at 1-2 am to JFK in time for the very early JetBlue flight down to Florida. :)

We did look at doing something similar to Flabound but we live up t'north so its a fair trek to LHR so thats kind of why we fly out of Man . We did look at using delta from man to Ft Myers via Atlanta but the fare worked out about £90 per person dearer. There are four of us travelling so it became a no brainer to bag the Very reasonably priced MPM fare from MAN to MCO. Suppose i'll just have to man up to the 3 hr drive at the other end.

Cheers
