Fort Lauderdale/Orlando coast options

Hi guys,

Wondered if I could tap into the vast travel knowledge on here.

We are taking a cruise in November from Fort Lauderdale. When we return, while travelling back to our house in Orlando, we thought it would be an idea to spend a night on the coast. Does anyone have any recommendations for Hotels, areas, beaches on that route? We are in our thirties and will be travelling with parents in law, so looking for a good Hotel 4/5 star, decent beach close by, good selection of restaurants near and a good bar 8D !

Thank you

The beaches along Melbourne Beach and Indialantic are great as mainly used by the locals (apart from further north - Cocoa Beach). The Crowne Plaza at Indialantic is very comfortable and they hold great Jazz evenings on Wednesdays, being on the beach it is a great location. Check out this link http://www.cpmelbourne.com/

I have a home nearby and love this area on the Space Coast - the hidden jewel in the crown IMHO, having spent many years in and around Orlando and over on the Gulf coast.

Also, the Barrier Island Sanctuary is worth a look along the way (on the A1A). http://www.conserveturtles.org/barrierislandcenter.php

Hope this might help

Suzy

We normally stay in Deerfield Beach before/after a cruise, it's only about 45 minutes up the road from FLL though, but there are some nice restaurants there.
