New York Metro Card Advice

Hopefully some frequent visitors to NYC can answer this.

Does the New York metro card allow you to travel on a bus from port authority over to New Jersey?

Looking to get to a specific location in NJ and have found the 320 NJ bus goes there. We will have 7 day Metro cards for travel in Manhattan, but if it can be used to get to NJ will save a few $.

Thanks.

You can’t use MetroCards on any NJ Transit buses or trains I’m afraid.

You can use a Pay Per Ride MetroCard on the PATH train which links Manhattan with Hoboken, Jersey City and Newark, but not a 7-day version.

Thanks for the quick reply, bus is the only option to where we want to get to, it’s only $30 return off all 4 of us, but just hoped it was included :)
