V-Flyer

I’m taking my young nephew to LHR to collect his uncle who is flying in for Xmas from the USA. My newphew is a bit like me and is an aeroplane fanatic, can anyone recommend the best area to plane spot while we wait.
This need not necessarily be in the terminimal as I’ve read it’s not possible to see the runway from there anymore but if there is somewhere nearby for example the top of one of the car parks or nearby restaurants or hotel that would be good (I’ve been told to try the Renaissance but not sure if the runway is visible from the public areas?)
Any advice would be greatly received.

Premier inn Bath Road. its right next to the runway, you will have to pay for parking though.
