Cabin Crew
The actual flight number of this trip was VS944, combining the usual VS44 and 85 because of low numbers. The outbound trip report referred to poor cabin crew and I'm sorry to say that this crew were, if anything, even worse. Maybe it's the Vegas route that seems to bring out the worst in VS crew. Too much partying perhaps?

Anyway, it would not be an exaggeration to say that not one crew member smiled or made us feel welcome at any point. No ' hello' when boarding, just a pointed finger towards our seat at the rear of the aircraft. Quite frankly, the crew didn't seem to be remotely interested in making anyone feel welcome. The combined drink and meal service was conducted with ruthless efficiency....but not a single smile at any point. The menus were incorrect and didn't match what was actually served. After the meal service, no sign of anyone for well over 3 hours. Eventually, Mrs QH walked up to the galley and politely asked for a drink of water. The CC member turned and poured water into a cup without speaking a word, without smiling or communicating in anyway. After the cup was handed to her, he just pulled the curtain across the galley entrance. Really awful.

These two flights between Man and Las were the poorest we've ever experienced with VS . We're flying the same route again in April (PE this time) so I hope things improve. At the moment, words can't convey how deflated we both feel with VS and the poor experience we have had.

Wow another poor service offering n( n( ..... I would definitely inform VS if I were you. Perhaps the 'hungover' crew could do with a bit of a clip around the head :P

Cheers for posting 8D

Ditto to what Joey said. Very disappointing, and well worth a letter setting out your feelings.

Sounds like a very disappointing couple of flights.
After my recent experiences which were fantastic(TR coming soon) it's sad to hear about flights like these.
It's seems like the only consistency is in the inconsistency if that makes any sense

A couple of very disappointing flights that could make you think twice about using VS again on this route v(

I very much hope your PE flights in April restore that confidence in VS that we all want to have :?

Wow! I am due to fly back on VS86 on February 14th in PE. :(
It might be valentines day but it looks like there is little love for the passengers on this route! I will monitor the attitude of the CC with interest, no UC available as scheduled as a A330.
Suggest that the management seriously investigate, this is a leisure route and many of the passengers will have looked forward to the trip for months. Let them down and it you will never regain their trust. But do they realy care? ?|

I am so sorry to hear about what sounds like a real poor experience. Please do write in with your feedback.

I returned from Vegas on 09/12/12 on the VS86 and to say I was disappointed is an understatement and I am still awaiting a response to my email with feedback on a really disinterested crew - I wonder if it was the same bunch!! :?

If it hits - or has the potential to hit - the bottom line, yes they will. But they can only investigate if they know. So for me if you have either a rubbish or an excellent experience, send a letter off letting them know why. Even if you don't get a response, somebody may be listening...

Good to hear all your responses. I was beginning to wonder if it was just me but it seems not. Clarkey...we disembarked at Manchester so not sure how long the aircraft was on the ground before it continued to LGW. There were several announcements as we taxied to the gate ranging from 1. Everyone must disembark 2. LGW passengers can remain onboard 3. Everyone just sit there and await a further announcement. So, yes, somewhat disorganised.
In the end, MAN passengers only were to disembark but this turned out to be a very long process. There were 2 VS ground staff at the end of the airbridge checking off each passengers name from a list. It took us 45 minutes to actually get off the aircraft. I don't know if this is the usual routine for this combined flight, but it wasn't a good experience!

When we flew to St Lucia last year we did a drop off in Barbados. It took about 20 mins to get the passengers off, and then another 20 / 25 to do the necessary checks of passengers and cabin luggage.

As I mentioned on the other TR - I wonder if it has anything to do with the A330 and the crew having no crew rest or quiet place to sit for such a long flight???? I seem to recall someone saying something along the lines of hope it doesnt lead to unmotivated crew and it looks like it might :(

However disgruntled someone might be about that - it shouldn' nt be reflected on passengers. n(

I have consistantly found that the service provided by the return crew(UK bound)is sub standard in comparision to the out bound.

It feels to me that the attitude is, this is a night flight so lets get the duties out of the way first (the new combined food and drinks service helps this) then everyone should go to sleep and not bother us.
