Bags tagged and the new "fastrack" at Orlando explained. As mentioned before its just to the right of the stairs upto McCoys and is for Upper and Gold as well as many oth business flights. The first part through passport check wasn't particularly "fast" but you have your own line to the scanners which helps.
Deltas "clubhouse" continues to expand is nibbles range with jars of nuts etc dotted around with some fruit and the usual cheese etc, but remains a long way from a real clubhouse. No offer of a voucher for food in the terminal was given at checkin but maybe we were talking of much.
The gate was pretty quiet as you would imagine ( noticed Lufthansa boards using 2 gates, 1 for economy and the other for business and first - nice idea. I assume they must board from opposite sides of the plane

On board and was pounced on by the crew offering champagne etc which was warmly received and this set the tone for the rest of the flight.
The crew were again 1st class and earned their pay last night. Nothing was too much trouble from making up your bed to a cup of hot chocolate before you drifted off.
The food was actually pretty good being ex USA. I notice there has been a few comments again about the difference in quality inbound to outbound but for once it was fine. I had the soup and the chicken which was supposed to be stuffed with mushrooms but looked more like haggis

The upper cabin was full and was soon bedded down after a warning that it might be a little bumpy. Mmmm, slept a few hours but I did feel like being on Space Mountain for 5 hours. The seat belt light was on a few times and at others it just bumped along.
Breakfast was offered when I stirred (no orders had been taken previously) but was there within a few mins along with tea and fresh orange (tropicana) and all too soon we were preparing for landing into a very foggy Gatwick.
The cabin wasn't quite as sparkly as the outbound plane, with a few red scrapes and nicks along with one broken table on 10a and again my screen needed tightening up. Wonder if this is a design issue ?? , but the crew more than made up for any small shortcomings that I noticed.
It's strange after a refit, they seem to have forgotten about the toilets that remain the same apart from a new tap when a freshen up would have just completed the job.
A quick trip through an empty immigration and I am sitting in the BA lounge courtesy of Amex plat waiting for the shuttle back up to Edinburgh.
2 flights, both pretty much faultless with 2 superb crews.
Well done Virgin

Thanks for reading

( forgot to say the baggage issue checking in at downtown seems to be resolved - the bags were among the 1st off at Gatwick )
