This is my first trip report for Virgin (I missed the chance to do one for a Gatwick-Antigua trip last year). I'll try to write this for those who perhaps haven't flown with Virgin before, rather than those who feel they know the cabin crew better than they know some of their family! :P

The check-in at Terminal 2 in GLA was easy, and we were asked to be at the gate NINETY minutes before scheduled take off time. No problems with that - if we're all there, let's go. In the event, we left some 15 minutes early on 'Beauty Queen'.

Superb aircraft with a first class IFE system. Cabin staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was very acceptable. The Virgin bags with socks, eye mask, pen etc. are a nice touch and I think lending earphones rather than selling them makes sense. With 50 films, 100+ television programmes, countless music and games options, the time flew past. The only downside to this flight was outwith the control of anyone on board. A storm was passing through MCO and resulted in the last 25 minutes of the flight being my worst experience in many many hours of flying. However, I'm writing this, so it can't have been too bad!

On arrival at Immigration, there were about 400 people in front of us and it took over an hour to clear there.

There's a lot to be said for flying direct GLA-MCO and the price differential with MAN or LGW isn't always too great, if you hit it at the right time.

Thanks for the TR y) It seems that US immigration is taking on average at least an hour unless you fly into MIA, where it can take 2+ hours v( . I trust Florida delivered a wonderful holiday as always ^)
