As is now the norm we stayed overnight at the Radisson Blu before our flight to LAS. It's always a nice start to the holiday with a view of the airport and a pleasant meal and no rush in the morning.

Check in was busy which is not surprising as VS have 4 flights departing over a 75 mins period. PE was quiet and we only waited a couple of mins but the Economy queue was lengthy. Security was pretty good as well. So all told it took about 20 mins.

As we were early we went for a round of toast and coffee (my wife preferred hot water but they are not allowed to provide it, probably cause they can't charge for it).

We then went looking for our ride which according to flightradar was to be Hot Lips and she was just arriving on stand on the VS74. She was shown on line as having landed at 8.35am and it was now 9.20am seems there had been a problem with the allocated gate. On the way we stopped chatting with the crew for the SFA flight who were waiting for their ride to come from the remote stand. In the end they and the passengers were bussed over. It seems this is not unusual due to lack of stands because of the rebuilding work.

We found Hot Lips and settled down to wait for boarding. The crew arrived which seemed a good omen then they were informed of an aircraft change to Ruby Tuesday which was also on a remote stand. Eventually we had to wait for the VS75 to depart before RT was towed across.

Talking to the crew at the gate the Captain said we would probably be a bit late off as the refuelling is the longest part but flight time was only 9hrs 47 mins so we should be in about right time. Boarding went fine and was quite well organised and we pushed back about 20 mins late with 375 and 15 crew on board.

We had chosen 19A & C at the rear of the PE cabin so as to be first off !!. The flight was pretty standard the food was fine and included the ice cream and the 3 hours from LAS they came around with hot steak or cheese & tomato pasties. A first for us and very nice. 90 mins out we had the usual afternoon tea. We arrived about 5 mins late but the had to wait 10 mins for another aircraft to depart the gate before we parked next to the LGW flight which was still unloading luggage. However we weren't first off as we were leaving by the front door between PE & Upper.

Off to Immigration which wasn't too busy and as we were going to gave a Global Entry interview we had to find a CUP official. She took us to 1 of the cubicles were we had to wait while they completed another couple. During our wait, about 10 mins, many of the MAN passengers passed having cleared Immigration so they were working quite quickly. By the time our interviews were done the hall was practically empty. (1 word of warning it seems we should have been processed for arrival and then asked for the interview as this came out in the conversation)

We were pretty well last into a full baggage claim about 30 mins after arrival as the luggage was only just starting to come off.

Altogether a good flight so off to pick up car and drive north to overnight in St George before our travels through Wyoming (Tellowstone) and South Dakota ( Mount Rushmore) before heading back to Vegas for a week at the end.
