The payoff

If a large number of VS operational staff, baggage, checkin, inflight etc went on pay strikes, bringing a large number of flights to a standstill over a period of time, and managed to win a suitable payoff deal, how would many of you react should Virgin start closing the airport lounges/revivals (for good) including Heathrow and Gatwick to subsidise (in part) this pay deal?
Of course there would be the option of other lounges, but with perhaps much more limited amenities, no cooked food or wash facilites, fancy furniture...
Would you feel let down by the airline or would you feel that the quality that existed in the VS lounges, at least for the few, could benefit the many during the flight; increase of inflight service staff wages = increase in motivation to deliver?

What a charmingly naive question! As it is so patently OT I am moving it to the Off Topic thread

Now where did I put my giant grindstone for that giant axe?
Oh well, it'll turn up. In the meantime, I'm off to look at Z fares and dream of Clubhouses and Champagne, Revivals and showers.[|)]

If all the premium (PE & UC) passengers were to move to another airline given the lack of lounge facilities, and the fares in economy had to raise to the non-premium subsidised level:
a) how long before the airline fails
b) how many of them would actually pay the substanially increased fare
c) how many of them actually give a toss what the staff are paid, if it actually meant they could get their bi-annual visit to the mouse cheaper.
Answers on a postcard via your local asylum.

Now what I like about this, currently, is that mr (?) s-c can't read the responses to his post. Perhaps the mods would move all s-c posts to the Off Topic forum for fun [}:)].

Since the CC dispute ended there's been a lack of baiting which s-c is now providing in spades! Bring it on! [}:)]
