2009 Contestant Line Up has been announced today.
Let me be the first to say, I see this as the final series. At the start of the run, shows will go out on a Friday and Saturday night[:0] with extended shows on a Saturday as the competition progresses.
If
this excerpt is anything to go by, then someone has lost the plot.

Agreed. If it ain't broken ..... Getting rid of Arlene Phillips is a bad mistake, especially changing her for someone who doesn't know the technicalities of dance. Too many changes for the wrong reasons [V]

I am by no means up on Strictly. In fact I think I have seen about three programmes. However I understand its a must watch, so with a new Friday night slot we may attempt to watch it.
In my younger and thinner years I was a pretty good athlete and used to compete at regional/national events with
Jade Johnson, she is lovely young lady so will be getting my vote each week!

What a great line up - no obvious potatoes too! Looking forward to it though will probably only see 1/3 of the shows.

Time to dust off the DVD's. Let me see...
Star Trek, in all it's incarnations.
Babylon 5
Stargate
Xena
Alias
Charmed
etc.
etc.
etc.

It's times like this I feel a part-refund of my license fee is due. Just a shame BB finishes next week...

Just looked at the link and have to say who are half these people. Have never watched it anyway.
So we finally get Big Brother off the TV next week (at last - good riddance) and so we'll now have this and X-Factor clogging up the TV instead! [xx(]

What a shame !
I have always loved strictly - the way it was and with Arlene. It is the only 'reality' prog that I have watched and even enjoy(ed)
16 contestants and I have only heard of 5 of them and one because he lives next door to a friend not because of his work !
and hurrah ! BB is to die

It's about time Brucie was pensioned off. His presenting style and jokes have never changed since he started (not that I can remember that far back). He is so out of date now [|)]
Surely there must be a younger, more talented presenter out there somewhere. [?]

Watched the clip yesterday and was amazed at the quality (or lack of it). It looked as though it was filmed with a hand-held camcorder and the overall presentation looked unrehearsed and somewhat shoddy. The clip even seems to start too late and end too early.
Personally I watched Strictly for the first time last year - as an exercise in finding something for out (now) 7 year old to stay up late for on a Saturday. Really quite enjoyed it but I agree that they need a new front man.

I completely diagree with you. I think Bruce is one of the main reasons this programme is so popular - well it certainly is with my family and me. Reminds us fondly of those family Saturday nights watching The Generation Game and the like - nostalgia can be so underated these days.

Sorry, I think Bruce is a living legend. I dont watch Strictly Dancing (or any reality TV for that matter) but how Bruce Forsyth still isnt a Sir by now is really beyond me. God bless Bruce! [:)]
Thanks,
Sarah
