Ive checked the trains from Manchester and they are coming out at 130pp return at the moment.
I've moved to Farringdon too seeing as it will be party central.
Thanks

Newark to Kings cross is rather better at 122 for us both,I'm going to wait and see if they have a sale, have managed it in the pass at under 100.

Ive just booked Wigan - Euston. for the 11pp.. I am waiting to see what happens with the return journey, coming up at 65pp at the moment.. We can either go for Liverpool Lime St, Manchester Pic, or our closest Wigan..
If all else fails and the price remains up, i will gladly forfit the 22 and Dave can drive.. as was originally planned. Was too good a price not too book.
Great Darren... x

Sealink...
When i originally put the search in for Manchester - Euston, it was giving me a cost of 65. pp ... However since i have found a 11 pp for a similar journey... Only thing is the return is still 65pp ....
We have booked the 14.00 from Wigan getting into Euston at 16.00... on the Friday.

Folks, prices for trains aren't going to be good until at least the weekend because the fares for that time in January haven't been loaded yet.
The main sites (trainline.com, etc..) won't tell you this though and will return higher fares than will be available.
Easy way to check... go to http://www.raileasy.co.uk and enter your dates - a message will come back saying 'We're sorry but it is currently only possible to make reservations up to 15 Jan 10. Please try again after 30 Oct 09.'
This is probably why Catherine is seeing a cheap outbound journey, but an expensive return [:)]
Cheers
Michael

You should be able to get a fully flexible (off peak) return for 66.00, but as other posters have said, lower fares should be loaded in the next few weeks. Railways frustratingly only work about three months in advance.

Just to update the ones who are waiting on Train fares.. I have booked our inbound journey for the 11pp.. Its a late train at 20.25, so will be able to shop, eat and drink, but direct into Wigan, so 2 miles away from my home.. Quite impressed 44 for a return trip.. I can settle now as its all done.

I LOST count at 6 changes (and nearly lost the will to live) - at one stage it was 3 changes in one day (and these were bookings not thoughts were they not ?) [:w]
Oh do come up for Ladies day but you need more time in Town than 1 night (and what a night it was [:?][:w]) [:X]

Oh, and the way that I found this out is because the current cheapest ticket for Yatton to Paddington is a 'Super Off Peak Return' coming in at 52.00 - I know I can get that for 20-ish.
Now booked at 18.00 return each - total of 36.00 versus 104.00 [:D][:D]
Cheers

You have made a very wise choice Buns - the Farringdon one has a certain reputation [:w][:I]
