I have to say that the crew rest area on the 744 isnt that bad,it's better than the old recarros were to sleep in,though you are right,a UCS is a better place to be.

Hello all

Thanks for that photo. I haven't got the miles or the money yet for UCS but I would be VERY happy in one of those little bunks - just down some night nurse [|)] and wake up the next morning in Tokyo...

What haven't airlines looked into the possibility of sleeper cabins?

I've slept in just as cramped looking conditions on DFDS from North Shields to Amsterdam and I was just fine :)

As we have pictures of the new PE seat and the crew rest - does anyone have any pictures of the new Economy seat? I might have missed this being discussed, but presumably that's also being trialled on one of the 346s?

BTW. I notice that the seatmap for VWIN is showing the standard configuration. Any chance of an updated seat map for new configuration - As the a/c get refitted it can be updated for each a/c.

Just so I am clear - are the 29" pitch on 346 or 747?

Unfortunately, it's not that simple. Effectively, there is a variety of pitches distributed around each aircraft (hence the fact that SOME will improve, others will stay the same).

I *believe* (although I have no idea why!) that the 346 has a greater number of longer pitched seats.

G-VBLU Started on VS7/8, don't know whether this will have any bearing on G-VWIN's first revenue sectors....???

Wonder whether new aircraft follow a set route pattern?? Maybe one of the OPS people on here may be able to clear this up??

Was lucky to try out the new PE seats on G-VWKD this week HKG/SYD.

VS have really outdone themselves! The leather is awesome! [y]

Took us a little while to find the laptop power though :D

Any chances of getting the pic of the new PE seat uploaded again? I cant get it to work.

Going to MIA in November in PE, so im guessing by then there will be a fairly good chance of being in the new seats if they will be rolled out by Oct?

You cant see but the handset is now under the tv monitor instead of in the armrest on the rows which are not at the bulkhead.

So saves you pressing the buttons by mistake (unless your sat at the bulkhead!!!!!0[^]:D

Thanks. Looks pretty comfortable! Hopefully the trial will be successful and they will roll them out across the fleet.

Chris

I doubt it. That's one of those code-share-slot-minding Air France flights that VS have an arrangement with.
