Indeed. The new account is operational online, is definitely mine and contains all my history, past miles, tier points etc. I'm not worried about that in the slightest. It does concern me that it was changed and nobody knows why, though.
The guy I spoke to in the Premier Team said it sometimes happens when there is a problem with the address details in the user profile. He acknolwedged that this doesn't seem to be the problem in my case as the address on the record is perfectly correct and my last statement (complete with new number and correct history) arrived a few days ago at the same address as they've always used.
Ho hum. I shall just continue running to the letterbox every morning hoping my shiny new card has arrived...!
