Hello
i am new to airmiles. My partner and I are going to NZ via Singapore with Singapore Airlines then coming home the other way with Air New Zealand via LA on a ticket called Great Escapade. Which airline do I sign up with to register my airmiles so that I can spend the airmiles earned on this trip with Virgin?
thanks

Hello and welcome to V-Flyer. :)

You could join any one of the FF prgrams you are flying on as they are all Virgin Flying Club partners.

If you are wanting to spend your miles on Virgin flights though, then joining VS Flying Club would be your best option to faster earnings. Click here to join online.

Once you have joined VS Flying Club, you will then need to add your Flying Club number onto your Escapade booking by contacting the agent you booked this with.

Simple. Both Singapore and Air New Zealand are members of Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club airmiles program. Go to virginatlantic.co.uk to join and be certian to quote your number every time you check in. Also you travel agent or the airline you both with could add the Virgin FC number to your booking.

The Great Escapade is a round the world ticket. Many people of this site have done and enjoyed them. I do not know the details but think that you can add many stops along the way for free or at a minimum cost. Consider this.

Look forward to your trip reports and welcome to V-Flyer! Consider join with the link in my signature.

Just to add to the above responses, many V-Flyers (including myself) have been on Great Escapades. There is a wealth of information about this, and other Round the World tickets on the forum.

There is a search function (at the top of this page), if you type 'Great Escapade' the search bar im sure you will find lots of useful information that may help you. I know from planning my own GE that it was a real undertaking!

Thanks,
Sarah

Different partners have different earning rates.

Details are on the VS Website.

Hello,

Etihiad (National airline of the UAE) has now started code sharing with BMIÉ.. Does this mean I can earn points flying with Etihiad?..... I fly every three weeks (business)to Abud Dhabi and the points would come in useful :D.

I started to fly Gulf but our company policy is now Etihiad.

Thanks for your help.

Probably not as codeshares are normally exempted.

You may want to look at the T&Cs for FC earning as there is a specific section for earnign with partners - I did this about 18 months ago and created a tool for the site (which I now need to update given some of the changes in the last year). Feel free to take a look:
