Im looking forward to seeing the new economy set up, the question is where the aisles are narrower on a 340 to a Boeing will the new config mean les legs in the aisle... avoiding the ministry of funny walks down the cabin? Also do you think we have got air vents in UCS on D/G seats? would be nice
Economy is the bit that interests me the most too...Both the bf and I are quite tall and we can't realisitically afford sitting any further forward, so any changes down back are good news to us! Is the race on to get pics for people now? When does G-VWIN enter revenue service?

Guess it arrived a couple of days later than expected.
Thanks Phil - Aircraft d/b & FAQs updated accordingly [y]
One question - the original notified name of this plane was "Lady Luck", but this thread says "Lucky Lady". Anyone know which one is correct please? [?]
Cheers

Thanks Daffy [y]
I see there's now also 3 different B744 configs there, with 2 different types for MAN/LGW B744's. I presume this comes from the ex-LHR B744's and would explain the confusion we have seen on here over economy rows 21 - 24 (which seems the only difference).
Also where's the economy galley moved to on the A346 new config, or will everything now be coming from the galley inbetween J and W?
Regards

Thanks for the link Daffy.
Is it a glaring ommission or have VS removed the overwing door in the new configuration. There only appears to be 8 exits with this configuration rather than the 10 on the current.

Hmm, either someone royally screwed up or the new PE seats were not liked.
That is not true the NEW PE seat is due to be rolled out from June 2006!
It was always planned for new Y seat to launch first!

Well I knew that, I just forgot that they were going to be rolled out at different times.
The new seat is slightly bigger and offers more padding and is basically more comfortable than the current V-Port Seat.
It looks so much better! and feels so much better!

The Economy service will be run from the galley at the back of the aircraft and the Premium Economy service from the galley in between J and W.

it is too large and i need to compress it to upload any ideas?
good luck.
Okay, now all this being said - Im a little concerned about something here. Im flying out on the VS200 to HKG and SYD on boxing day and have booked 2K as im on my own. Id obviously prefer not to be stuck next to the loo for reasons i dont need to explain. However, now looking at the seat plan, the No.2 (excuse the pun) config shows the loo having moved the right side... i.e right infront of 2K. So if this new config has been set up across the fleet this year, should i therefore reserve another seat instead ?
I have all faith that the flight, service and everything else will be just as im anticipating it to be, this is just a tiny tiny concern.
Cheers..

Well, as the main changes are taking place at the back of the UC cabin, I dont see what reason they have for simply moving the toilet from A to K as the aircraft go in for conversion. I think that new aircraft (inc WIN) will be delivered like this but the older '2a' 346's will remain as such. Therefore I think by Christmas your chances of sitting next to the WC will be 2 in 17. If you dont like those odds and it will really bother you that much, maybe you better had pick another seat before more people reserve them.
I think that VS is moving the forward WC as the A position douses seats 1D, 2D and 3D with light every time the door opens. I'm not anal about the registrations of the planes I fly on, but the last three A346 flights I've had have been configured with the WC in front of 2K. I'll check again in 10 days time when I'm out on the VS21/22 run again.
Incidentally, having been in 2K last time on a night flight it wasn't too big a deal, and it is certainly worth being at one end of the A346 cabin if you feel you want to stretch your legs and wander around, given the lack of a middle crossway.
