First timer on this site.. Please excuse lack of knowledge on VS

Wife is Gold on VS..I normally fly BA

Checked under search but could not find details on cheap upper class flights ex Amsterdam.

I know there has in the past been cheap Z fares LHR/MIA on VS in JUL/AUG... Not apparantly around this year.. ie level £1700 or arounds.

Heard somewhere that VS sells cheap faresx ex AMS...

Has anyone contact details of agent of method of buying these..

Appreciate you must at least fly the AMS/LHR sector

Any advice appreciated

Santa

Hi Santa and welcome,

We forgive you ;)

There are from time to time very good deals across the pond ex Amsterdam. I don't know what the current rates are but there hasn't been a discussion on here for a while on that subject, I don't believe?

We have been having a few problems with our servers so some of the older archive material is not currently available.

Hope yope you enjoy the site and get the answers you are looking for.

You can use the Expedia multiple destinations tool. You have to specifically date and time each sector.

Dummy booking for 5-12 August ex-AMS to MIA on KLM and VS in UC for LHR-MIA prices up at £1744.90.

PLUS, they're a little more flexible than a regular Z... [:w]

More details can be found in The Clubhouse ;)

Thanks for the help LukeW and your encouragement Bazz.

I have been working away at solving my own problem and have found a fare code ZRTEU with Virgin from Amsterdam at £1579 + taxes which I guess equivalates to the £1744.90 with taxes.

If anyone has experience with these fares which permit no stopovers am I safe with suggesting to the wife that she flies

AMS/LHR/MIA/LHR X LGW/AMS

Meaning that she would ever only have to fly the AMS/LHR sector and as she would have to be given her luggage back in LHR that she could simply ignore the return flight to AMS

Anyway the problem has been solved and I appreciate your help.

By the way one partner holding VS Gold and the other BA Gold helps with lounge access wherever we travel one would travel together

Thanks again Santa

Dear Santa (I can't believe I just wrote that, at my age!)

Yup - that scenario is correct. She can opt to have her baggage tagged through only to LHR on the return.

It DOES introduce a small amount of risk in the "getting to AMS" bit, but if the savings seem worth it, it's a good deal.

I'm wondering, even though you can't seem to book one of these fares on http://www.virgin-atlantic.com, can you phone up VS and have them ticket it for you?

Expedia seems to be quite recalcitrant and need a fair old amount of tweaking to get it to cough up a remotely sensible ZRTEU routing.

VS will ticket it directly, as will a good (dodgy-ish) travel agent...

But you are only a young 'un Paul ;)

BTW, I thought we'd limited ZRTEU discussions to the CH??

Cheers
