Researching cars for a holiday later in the year and I recalled a post saying that entering the Virgin CDP number resulted in good rates ... well I did and it had absolutely no effect on the Hertz Web site.

Has any used this successfully ... any tips?

BTW the booking is for October, LAX and I'm looking at prestige cars.

Thanks

Try looking in the Hertz forum over on Flyertalk.com - you may find some alternative CDP codes there...

Thanks,
Richard

Richard - thanks ... there's a world of fun I didn't know existed! You can guess I don't rent frequently ...

Had some great fun playing around. Joined Hertz number one club which immediately raised the price of my original reservation by 40% (erm really!). Then played with as many codes as I could and realised that the AA one worked best for me (and I go bright beetroot if I tell a fib, so didn't want to use a bad code then get asked about it at pick up!).

All in all save $300 asking a question and spending a little time on the Web ... cool, thanks again!

Flyertalk could almost be classed as the 'parent site' of V-Flyer, it is where most of the people that are now the mods on here, first got together.

It is a great site with a wealth of information about airlines / hotels / car hire / credit cards and lots of other travel related matters. It is certainly US orientated but is still worth browsing for any issues that you feel aren't covered here.... though it is still worth trying here first. ;):D
