That's what I thought Nick but, the nice lady from the premier tean said it was gold card only...

I was on asking AGAIN for my e-ticket to be emailed and was about to ask about the possibility of having one more guest but stopped short when she said that!

John - I am going by my own experience and a number of previous posts, including this one.

I am not aware of any recent change, that make this no longer the case.

Have popped an email off to customer services and here's hoping!

Thanks for your responses.

John I am totally gobsmacked that you were told this! Nothing has changed, if you are travelling on an Upper class ticket, Money, Miles + Money or Reward, You are allowed one (1) guest per UC ticket!

I'm thinking there may have been a little confusion here...

If you're a Gold card holder AND you're flying Upper can you take TWO extra bodies into the CH? (One on your ticket and one on your card??)

I didn't get to the point about asking for a the additional person though so I still don't understand it!

No only one guest, nice try though:D

Defo OK to take 1 guest in with your UC ticket whatever flavour it is.

Unluess you were an OpUp to Upper - then you nor a guest has access to the CLubhouse (unless you have other means such as VS FC Au, Uk Centurion etc.)

Thanks,
Richard

But in that case you wouldn't have an UC ticket.

So in the case of an OpUp, does the boarding card still show Y or W as the fare class?

That's strange cos when I was op-upped in ANU during the "check in and chill out" I was given a purple boarding card and had access to the small lounge there.

When I have been opuped at check-in I have received a J BP but the staff at the clubhouse know you have been opuped and as Richard said no Au card or black amex no entry.
JAT74L you must have got lucky at ANU with a staffer who didn't know the rules:D

That happened to me too in 2004 - maybe it's just ANU

I have had no lounge access scrawled across an opuped BP at BOS.Don't really know why she bothered as I checked in with my Au card[:0]
