Hi US memebers,
I find myself in the fortunate situation of flying into JFK on a UC reward flight in August. I have to get to Long Island - my question is - do I cash in another 10,000 miles and pay for a reward transfer or is there a better way - taxi, pre booked limo etc?

All suggetions welcome:D

Hi John,
Depending upon what time you arrive at JFK (you are on VS45, so will arrive during daylight) and where you are going on Long Island I would recommend the very prompt and modestly priced AirTrain; here's the link. If you don't have a ton of luggage, it's even better.

Train leaves from upper deck of terminal areas and shortly arrives at a transfer station where you will pick up an eastbound train for Long Island (one can also go into NYC at this station). Whoever you are meeting can tell you which train to board and when it is running (most run quite frequently).

If you are trundling along with a houseful of luggage spend the money and have a car pick you up; it will run you US50-100, more if you are going to the far end of Long Island. Is that worth 10,000 miles?

That looks rather promising - It seems I could be in Babylon within an hour of landing (Imigration permitting):D

Thanks
