Apologies if this has alreday been asked.

I don't want the Amex card,I've had so many difficulties with my previous one.

Is £115 good value if I change to new Virgin/amex card just to get the miles then cancel it?[:#]

It's cheaper than 'buying' 10,000 miles off the website!

Perhaps the question should be: Is £115 worth it for 5,000 miles? - as you would recieve 5000 miles with the no fee card.

Phil

P.S. It's still cheaper than buying them from VS... just!!

Its also cheaper then a return Economy fare to NY which gets around 10k. So in that respect I think it is very good value for money.

Um.. wouldn't buying 5,000 miles only cost £90 ?

But you do get a trip to NY as a bonus by doing that[8D]

So to answer the original question, you are probably better off going for the white card if you intend to cancel immediately ( unless MBNA will refund part of the fee on a pro rata basis[?])

Once again, we are in danger of having lots of threads running about the same subject.

I know the thread in the cards section is long, but if everyone posts their comments about the new card there, it is better for everyone.

I will lock this one to avoid duplication, and ask that comments be placed in this thread
