I have a flight to ABQ coming up Next week. I can use VS via Vegas, but the UC fare is over £5k, so that's out. However the PE fare is about £2k, so a posibility there. An alternative is to fly Grumpy Airlines (AKA AA), who I have never been with before in Business to Dallas for £1600. Which to choose? I am inclined to the AA business fare, but their grumpy reputation and the fact that I would not earn VS miles put me off. Alternatively, as I will be doing this route monthly, at least, I could join AA's frequent flyer club, with the intention of using the miles with the dark side (and combine this strategy with getting the BA Amex).

What do you think oh wise ones?

I would vote for CO too, as long as LGW works.

Is LAX out of the question?

I don't think it's that much further to ABQ from there than DFW, even though the flight time to LAX is slightly longer. Plenty of choices to LAX though.

Cheapest LAX is united @ £4702. I could do United via chigago, but the times stink, It's still £2287 and that does nothing for miles I don't think.

I think, at the end of the day, the choice really is going to be between AA business or VS PE.........

Go VS PE. That way you can use your gold benefits (CH, Revivals, 200%) and possibly upgrade to UCS with miles. Plus I hear the PE bubble rocks but you could work on the A346 with the power port in PE.

With only 14 seats, how much availability is there to upgrade to J on the LAS route?

Perhaps a check on expertflyer to see what the loads are like?

Indeed it does, bit it's STILL more expensive than Grumpy J!

No delta still sucks...ok let's see.

Well you do not earn any miles with BA when flying AA across the pond, but how about taking BA into PHX then HP down to ABQ?

Seeing as this is going to be a pretty regular trip im guessing you could plan ahead a little, plus maybe a phone call to Crawley may be in order...VS now buy's your product...btw way of subject, any news on that catering company buyout?

I will have a look at the route you suggested Jetwet. I suspect it will turn out to be pricy though - it seems like AA are the only people doing anything in J for under £2k at the moment.

We have identified a catering company based here in the UK - small outfit, but the principle owner is keen to exit. Would need to replace most of the senior managers and the sales team though [n]. Today I am off to London to see some fund managers - we want to place a few new shares for this buyout and for a factory in China.
