I maybe incorrect but the LHR-HKG jaunt is on a A346. PE on the A346 does have PowerPorts. Now a A343 or B744 could get put on last minute but I bet you would be save. I think it is 99 percent A346. ISTBC

Oh heck you could be right but I did take a quick look on seat guru and they show power only in UC.

If it is a 346, to the best of my recollection it does indeed have power points.

Are you from the West Country?:D

I think that was the conclusion we were coming to. 346 has power in PE, otherwise not.

I seem to recall that when this was discussed before it was the presence of v:port that determined seat power - not just the a/c type. So generally LHR 744s have power too but I stand to be corrected.

I do believe that any aircraft with the new PE seats will have a power supply - it might be something worth adding to the specific aircraft details on v-flyer - so - and ISTBC its a plus for the downstairs seats on the LGW/MAN 744's and as has been pointed out is on the 346's and on those 744's from LHR with new seats ( sorry - I dont know if they have all been converted!!).

Just remember you need an "empower" adaptor to be able to plug your lap top power supply into the socket. I don't have one but others will be able to advise[|:)]

And if you ask very nicely the crew might bring one to you from their stash in UC [8D]

I was on a 744 to LA recently, and had power in the seat in PE, and on a 346 on the way back too. I bought one of the Targus kits containing a power supply and more adaptors than you could shake a giant Twiglet at. Did the trick [y]

Okay, with G-VXLG gone to work B&S out of Gatwick, all the 744s working regularly out of LHR (there's only 5 of them now - HOT, FAB, BIG, WOW and ROC), and all A340-600s have "Empower" sockets in the PE cabin.

Therefore, only the flights planned on the A340-300 will have no Empower sockets in PE. I guess it's a game of "wait and see" if they will get the new "Super Seat".

AFAIK, excepting the J cabins, there is no Empower out of LGW.

Cheers,
Mike

There will be laptop power sockets on your flight to HKG.

Feel free to ask a member of crew for a lead but be quick as stock is limited.
