Good man, serves him right for going to BOS [:0][:I] and ignoring the option of Vegas,I mean it's not hard to justify,VS has a direct flight everyday LAS-LGW and the hotel room's are not badly priced.

Right. I've JUST got home.

Brief summary of since my last post:

The flight was delayed to allow connecting passengers at Zurich.I sat in front of one of the worst examples of parenting I've ever seen in my life. I think it was almost on the verge of a massage, the amount of jolting the back of my seat was taking.A thunderstorm above London held us up on our way in (took 2.5 hours instead of 1.25 hours with 1 hour in total circling in one of 2 holding patterns). We got STRUCK by lightning, on approach. They've completely lost my checked bag. (Yes, yellow form all filled out [ii])[:0]

I wish I could make it up! [B)]

Seems there's also an issue with any baggage claim, as I didn't actually HAVE a Swiss-Air ticket, but it was them that I flew with. [ii][:w]

Know the words "Flight Irregularity Receipt", anyone? Looks like it could be the key to who's problem this is to sort out... [:?]

OK, latest on the missing bag. Since nobody had even contacted me, I sent an email yesterday simply to ask what the "next steps" are.

Here's the response from Swiss:

Dear

Due to the recent happenings in London, there are currently thousands of bags stuck at London Heathrow, and unfortunately not an unlimited amount of staff available to handle that huge problem, as no one expected this situation. Some hundreds of bags were even removed by the airport authorities to an external storage due to security reasons. As the restrictions are implemented by the governement, the airlines have no influence on it, all airlines operating to and from London are affected and so are their customers. We kindly ask you for your understanding in this exceptional situation.
Unfortunately due to above mentioned circumstances, we cannot reach the staff at London Heathrow airport neither, as they are all working hard on the bags and doing their best to forward/deliver the bags as soon as possible.

We regret to tell you, that there is nothing we can do to push the process forward, we hope for your understanding and your patience, thank you.
You will be contacted for delivery as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

How very unhelpful, guess its just going to be a wait and see what happens situation. I understand it was expectional circumstances but surely things like this should not happen? once again BAA excel themselves!

Latest email from Swiss, after my "you're not talking to me - tell me what's happening with my luggage" email this morning:

Dear

We understand your frustration about the situation. Currently are still around 15 000 to 20 000 bags at London Heathrow airport. You may understand that it would slow down the process of delivering the bags, when the handlingagents would call every passenger (what would be around 20 000 affected passengers)for a status update. Our Station Manager is checking the different storage locations for the bags which belongs to SWISS-passengers, and so some amount could already be delivered and is delivered these days. We expect your bag to be delivered within the next three days. If that should still not be the case, it may be possible, that due to the transport from the airport to the storage location the bagtag has been torn off, then please fill out attached form and return it directly to us either by fax or by email to below address.

We thank you for your understanding and patience, we know it is much to aks for.

Yours sincerely,
