VH 10% weekend

Virgin Holidays are discounting all holidays booked on line by 10% this bank holiday weekend. Can anyone confirm if the 10% FC discount will also apply?

I bliming well hope not as i have just booked yesteday and got my FC 10% discount!

I can't say either way, but past experience suggests it won't. A 5% discount is standard for bookings through the website, and when FVC / FC discount is applied it brings it up to 10%. i.e. on a 1,000 pound booking you get a total discount of 100 not 145 or 150 (depending on the maths).

The t&c for FVC discount state

"The FVC discount is not combinable with the online discount"

Check the smallprint or T&Cs at the bottom of the mail. I wouldn't be surprised if it says something along the lines of 'not in conjunction with any other offer or discount' ... but one can always be optimistic.

If it says nothing of the sort, give VH a call

I doubt you will be able to get the 10% FC discount also, this offer is for online bookings only and to get the 10% FC discount normally you have to book over the phone to get it applied!

Its either 10% or 10% thats your choice, not 10% and 10%.

You never know when VH will do an online discount, every bank holiday people wonder if they will, but they don't always.

Thought i might clarify things about the 10% discount - you are guys are certainly on the ball!

Virgin Holidays and Virgin Atlantic have a huge sale this weekend - it will be advertised in the newspapers and through emails.

Virgin Holidays are offering a 10% discount off the cost of the holiday if you book online on sat/sun/mon/tue - unfortunately this can not be combined with the 10% frequent virgin club or flying club discount - we can however work out which is more beneficial for you and amend accordingly if you contact us because sometimes the fvc/flying club discount does work out better.

So there you have it, 10% or 10% but because of the way each calculates it in relation to taxes, levies and other things, sometimes there can be slight differences, go figure!

The FVC 10% discount is off your holiday's total cost which includes flight upgrade supplements, car hire insurance and single person supps etc etc. Basically everything expect V Hols holiday insurance.

The FC discount and this current online sale 10% discount is only off the basic holiday cost. Well as least I think no hope it is anyway.

I used the FC discount earlier this year James, rather than the FVC one (as I didn't realise I was even entitled to it at the time!) and the 10% off was for the entire amount - not just the basic price.

And the FVC benefits sometimes include space available room upgrades etc.

...which doesn't happen often. I've only ever received 1 upgrade in the past 10 years (that's 9 V Hols bookings) and that was only after I argued at check-in at a hotel in Miami, as they were going to put me in a single room, except I'd paid a single person supplement to V Hols so I refused to accept a sinlge room. They didn't have any standard 'double' rooms so I got a spa suite in the end.
