Good evening all- I've been really busy and haven't posted much lately, but I hope all is well with everyone...

I have, on rather short noticed, decided I'd like to take a trip to the UK this summer. I've learned that some family has the week of 17JUL off, so I thought I might pay them a visit.

Unfortunately, VS' website is showing $911.76 for the VS2 service out on the 14th, and VS1 return service on the 23rd- which unfortunately is a little out of my price range. Even the current miles plus money promotion only saves about $200, but with no mileage earned IMO it's more reasonable to pay the extra and get mileage.

Continental has a direct EWR-LGW 777 service showing up for $699 which is a little more obtainable, with the ability to earn VS miles- although I much prefer to fly with VS.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to check for cheaper tickets? Oh and this trip will be made down the back in cattle class- I'm fairly broke this time around [:#]

PPS- My mom will be traveling in W on the VS 2/1 services on July 8 and August 13, respectively. If any of you really kind Elites are going to be around those days, she'd get a real kick out of seeing the clubhouse ;)

studentuniverse.com or statravel.com seeing that you are a student. SU and STA fare many claim that you may not earn miles but I sometimes have earned miles in the past. That said, I have never bought a ticket from either of them for travel on VS.

Maybe you could get 10 or 20 percent off a certian airline?

If you need accom, maybe try VH? Get 10% off then.
