Help please.

Just upgraded my reward flight back from MIA to Upper from P/E ( found out that VS 6 has been retimed 70 minutes later) and as we are going to be at the airport most of the day thought it would be a good idea to upgrade so as to get lounge access, and make the wait more pleasurable.[:o)]

However looking here and reading a revue, albeit about 18 months old of the lounge, methinks it may not have ben such a good idea.

It appears that VS customers use the Club America lounge landside and it doesn't get many rave revues [:#]

Can anyone offer me a crumb of hope that miracles have, or are about to be performed at the said lounge, making it as nice as LHR.

Regards

Paul

Well, it's certainly no CH, but you will have wireless internet, and will be able to order a few toasted sandwiches. I really enjoyed the orange juice in there. In fact I think Florida has had to plant a few more groves in preparation for my next trip.

It is not open plan so you will be able to find a nice quiet spot to relax in.

I thought it was an adequate place to relax for a couple of hours before the flight.

The MIA lounge is OK - it gets you away from the crowds and has the usual non-Clubhouse lounge facilities.

Bear in mind though that VS check-in wont open until about 13:00 and that you wont be able to use the lounge until you have checked-in.

Sitting in CA is certainly more pleasant than waiting around in the terminal;)

I agree with all the comments here. I would add that in my opinion I thought the a/c was not very good in there. As a result, with the windows being pretty large, the CH does get quite warm - and bright! All the better to absorb all the 1970's chintzy fabrics in the CH! :D Virgin CH it certainly isn't.

I hear the AA Admirals Club is better for facilities. That said, like the other comments here, it is much better than hanging around the public areas at MIA!

Finally, on past visits, all UC passengers got a Virgin fast-track escort (as a group) through security to the gate, though that may have changed now!

Paul, I posted a stack of pics on the concourse "E" Club America Lounge here

It was a little while back but I doubt it has changed much.

Hi -

not sure if it has re opened (was closed for renovation last time I was there Oct 05) but there used to be a really cool rooftop bar, pool (v small) and running track on top of the hotel that's in the terminal. It's no lounge but used to be a pretty good way to while away a couple of hours. Failing that the bar on the ?nth floor of the hotel is not bad - a world away from terminal bustle.
