I have checked through the aircraft database and nothing seems to be doing the MCO / MAN route currently. Can anyone say what aircraft is on the run at the moment?

I know most have Nova on this route, does anyone know when this will be upgraded as the Nova entertainment system lets Virgin down.

The only way I can see the Nova IFE system being upgraded is if Virgin do a complete re-fit on the Ecomony & Premium Economy cabins on the LGW / MAN 744's. It costs well in excess of £1m per aircraft to install v:port.

This might just happen at some time in the future, as most of the MAN / LGW 744's are only 5 years old, so have a good few years left in the fleet (in theory). Of course, the majority of the MAN / LGW routes are bucket & spade ones, so it may not happen - VS can fill the seats easy enough with a poor IFE system, so why spend the money?

Hi Woz and welcome to VF[y][y] (good call with the membership too[^])

I agree that the entertainment systems on the MAN/LGW do let VS down a bit, but unfortunatly it seems that this is going to be the case for a while. The MAN/LGW a/c are only likely to get updated when newer a/c enter the fleet and some of the LHW a/c with V-Port ect get moved over the MAN/LGW.

As mentioned earlier the cost to install V-Port throughout the plane is abt 2million each, so not cheap and although VS have announced the it will be rolled out across the fleet it does seem that as mentioned it will be later rather than sooner.

To keep a check on which a/c is currently doing this route you can use this site which is really good, but just for info it was G-VAST on Sunday (which is odyseey IFE[y][y])
