I reckon it will just be a clawback on the fact that the UC fare is incredibly low. I think it would be over generous of Virgin to offering the standard UC miles/points for that price. There's no such thing as a free lunch maybe?

Perhaps a call to Upper Class reservations or the Premier Team would allow you to determine if they will release a D or J class to you. Most likely you will be paying out more than you will get back in terms of miles and points.

Sorry Andrew, that post has completely lost me. What are you asking/saying?

[?] Has this maybe got something to do with the earlier post about the flight ex GLA not earning miles?

Maybe Mcnaugha means that he/she believes that any upper class fares in the sale will not get the full miles and status points. Or maybe he doesn't. I think the thing we can all learn from this thread is to follow the white rabbit.

Post Edit - Having researched a little I think it must be about miles for mates, or should that be mates for miles .... who knows.

Well, all Upper Class sale fares earn full Upper Class miles, so there's a mistake/misconception on the VS website for a start.

As for mates fares, hmm...
