Once again I couldn't get any reward seats from MAN to MCO in PE, despite being on the phone/website to FC at 336 days. I've been told to check nearer the time in case any more are released. Can anyone tell me how long before the flight this decision is made. I can't wait too long, I need to decide whether to fly with another airline before they are all booked up too. We went out on the same flight last year and PE had empty seats even after they sold cash upgrades. There were only around 150 people on the whole flight.

How does the codeshare with Continental work? Can I book through them and still claim miles?

I'm gutted, because I now have a companion voucher I don't see how I can use. [n]

Hello,

Roughly when are you looking to travel? Reward seats to MCO are often hard to come by, particularly if you want to travel on a Saturday or other popular time. I had the exact same issue myself recently. Flying Club should be able to tell you when there are reward seats available (if any) for your months of travel, though they may be on awkward days such as early in the week. If you want to travel in peak season, you will likely have difficulty getting reward seats on this route.

Extra reward seats can be opened up at any time but it is usually done a lot closer to the flight, particularly the week before departure. If you are looking to travel at a busy time, the number of reward, and also lower priced seats (i.e; K fares), will be restricted. Have you looked at flying LHR-MIA instead? Or connecting in through one of the East Coast routes? It makes the journey longer but you are more likely to find availability by being flexible.

You can earn miles on the CO codeshares that have a VS prefix (i.e; VS3119 to EWR). If you want to book a flight directly with CO, you can earn FC miles and Tier Points for that flight, check here for eligible fare classes and earning rates.

If it makes you feel any better, i have 3 companion vouchers in my account - i doubt i'll use any of them!

Thanks,
Sarah

When I booked LHR-MIA rewards last month it was still wide open.
