My wife & I are flying to JFK at the end of this month and I have a few questions

1)What time does the LHR Clubhouse open on a Saturday morning? I want to get as much time in there as possible before our flight.
2)Is the lift to the private security channel available to Upper Class passengers who have not been driven to the airport by a chauffeur?
3)I have selected seats for our flight but they are not seats which are highly rated on this site. Do more seats become available on the day of the flight?

Thanks for your help

Hi Gadget,

1) - 07:00

2) - Yes, the designated lift is to the right of the J check-in desks which will take you upstairs to the private security channel.

3) - The full allocation of seating becomes available 24 hours before departure. Your first chance to change your seat choice is by using OLCI.

Have a good trip...:D

Thanks Tallprawn
Thanks for quick reply! I was just about to make an appointment for a Cowshed treatment and noticed that allows me to choose anytime from 0600. Is the Cowshed actually in the Clubhouse or are the available times incorrect on the website?

Cheers

Well, I have requested one treatment each for the wife & I at 0630. I will let you know how I get on! Mrs Gadget doesn't realise we are travelling UC, I'm finding it hard not to spoil the surprise!

As an LHR Clubhouse newbie, what are the highlights? It looks as though we may only have a couple of hours maximum before our flight.

By the way, this is an excellent website. Long may it continue!

For me it's the Mojitos:D. The hot tub is quirky to use (there are a few afficionardos lurking on here [:w])and I rather enjoy having my hair done watching aeroplanes trundling by. The whole CH experience is nice (and away from the hoarding masses of LHR).Enjoy.

I got a reply from the Cowshed giving me a 0715 appointment which they have confirmed is the earliest available. Interestingly, the VS Premier Team have told me that the Clubhouse opens before 7am on a Saturday because there is an earlier departure to MIA. This is confusing! Oh well, only a few days to go now.....

This would be particularly useful to know if true [}:)]- can anyone confirm if the FC have got this right, and from what time it is open on a Saturday???

To be fair to the Premier Team, they didn't confirm an exact opening time or if the CH would definitley be open before 0700. To paraphrase, the reply was that they usually open earlier to accommodate the MIA service. I guess I will find out on Saturday.

We still have the original seats that I first selected on the VS website. Are all of the remaining unallocated seats released for OLCI or are some still held back? I guess I really want to know is when do you have the best choice of seats. I would imagine that it would be by checking in online but do other seats get released closer to departure once it is apparent that there will be no-shows.
