During late summer of 2003, the second LHR-LAX flights 23/24 were quietly withdrawn from the winter timetable, except Dec. 10-Jan. 12 for the holidays. (Presumably, this occurred for revenue and yield concerns.) As we proceed with summer 2004, I see flights 23/24 still listed for this winter, but I'm curious how solid is this listing. When would the winter schedule be frozen, except for unforeseen emergencies or events? I might speculate August 1 or even September 1, that being about 90 or 60 days before the October 31 cut-in of new timings. Any insights from the VS scheduling and revenue folks about the finality of the winter timetable? I especially prefer flight 23 because it allows a late, relaxed checkout from London hotels for the 1500 departure.
