I know this is a month in advance, but my parents are booked on this flight and on checking the seat map today, I get the message that the seat map is unavailable and seats will be assigned at check in.
Does this mean the aircraft is not going to be an LGW plane, or is the website just being awkward today.
Any help or information would be great.

Hi Kev,

This message is likely the result of all available pre-bookable seats having been allocated. Only 60% of seats are pre-bookable and once these have all gone the remaining are allocated at check-in, see this thread for example. Your parents should have no issue in getting seats together at check-in if they arrive early.

Thanks,
Sarah

As this question has been asked a lot recently maybe a 'sticky thread' could be set up with the answer?

I would say it's probably more a case of doing a quick search before posting. You can search using the site's search feature and also through the google search link provided. IMO too many sticky's just clutter the main pages and makes the newer topics less obvious.

You could also read the Virgin Atlantic FAQ's which are Frequently Asked Questions, and are linked from the menu on the left side of the screen or here.. [:D][:D]

The first link in this post is the direct link to the question about pre-booking seats.

I would have done a search, but I was on mobile broadband, and lets face it - Its pretty expensive lol.

Is it maybe worth putting a note in the FAQ section about the message that appears when all the seats are allocated and what it means? It seems said message is the one that everyone is questioning and might stop the recent influx of posts querying it's meaning?
